Lil’ Toot Offering Special Private Charter Rates In July and August
Throughout communities around the world, small local businesses have needed to make adaptations. Not only to ensure the safety and security of their customers and staff, but also to ensure the safety and security of the business itself. Celebration Cruises spent our time in closure evaluating what ways we could change our business to succeed in this challenging time. While we have been open again for awhile, implementing reduced capacities, new safety and cleaning protocols and requiring masks aboard all our vessels, today we are offering a new and significant change for the months of July and August.
For July and August, Lil’ Toot is offering two additional private charter slots – 10:30AM and 5:00PM – available seven days a week. Not only does this add 14 new private charter slots to our schedule each week, but these special new charter slots are reduced by $100 per hour of our standard rate. Normally $275 per hour, these new charters are available for $175 per hour, which is the total cost for a party of up to 10, taxes and fees included.
Lil’ Toot is our oldest vessel and the boat that started Celebration Cruises. It’s just as important to our business now as it was sixteen years ago when it first started whistling through the waters of the Santa Barbara harbor. During a regular summer, the abundance of locals and visitors alike helped fill up our taxi services where our business was able to grow to what it is today, but the summer of 2020 is an entirely different situation altogether. To try to make the summer of 2020 work for our business, we need to try new things and need to make sacrifices to do so. Adding these new private charter slots shortens our water taxi schedule, but gives people the opportunity to book private cruises in a time where public cruises and public water taxi rides simply don’t feel like an option to many people and families in our community. Our most prevalent phone call to our business is whether or not Lil’ Toot is running and we’ve long taken pride in running it seven days a week throughout the summer months, sometimes all the way into October. This year, there are days where the water taxi -simply put – doesn’t make enough money to pay for it’s captain and crew. Implementing these private charter options allow the business to have an extra chance for additional income that can help the water taxi keep running on the most consistent schedule possible. While this does mean that water taxi service ends earlier daily, it ensures we can offer the most possible days for a fun Lil’ Toot ride possible throughout July and August.
We hope that these new private charter slots and the discounted rate appeal to people in our community who want a boat to just themselves and their group. With none of our private charters within thirty minutes of either another private group or a public cruise, our captain and crew have time to implement our new cleaning and sanitization protocols to ensure that the boat is ready for a safe and fun cruise every single time.
We’ve said it before and we will say it again – we are the business that we are because of the Santa Barbara community. We appreciate all that you’ve done for our business and our family and there is nothing that makes us happier than when people are on our boats laughing, smiling and forming lasting memories. Even in a year as different and scary as 2020, we want to continue to do our part in making that happen.
